Chisago Lakes Community Education

Jazz1.5 is an extra-curricular opportunity for students in the Chisago Lakes Music Department in grades 9-12 (8th graders with director approval). All instruments are welcome to join, we will also need students on Guitar, Bass, and Piano. Similar to Marching Band and Pep Band, Jazz1.5 is an opportunity to perform upbeat, contemporary music in a large full ensemble in musical styles that may be new to students. Jazz1.5 is a multi grade group and the musical level reflects that. Younger students will be challenged by the difficulty, but older students will be given the opportunity to mentor members of their instrument section. No prior Jazz experience is needed. It is unlikely that we will have a traditional concert, but we will seek out ways to perform for friends and family as policy allows.

All rehearsals will be in the High School PAC, students and instruments will be masked and distanced.
