The class wraps up with how and when to select material for creating arrangements and basics of floral design.

    Ages 14+ Most perennial plants need to be divided every 3 to 5 years to rejuvenate the plant. It is also an opportunity to expand the plant material available for your gardens without spending a dime. This course reviews the when, how, why and potential dangers associated with dividing plants. The course also identifies the optimum time for division of various plants and includes information on which plants should never be divided.
  • Planning and Planting a Pollinator Garden

    A native wildflower garden will attract beautiful butterflies and bees to your yard and help pollinators stay healthy. You can plant a garden anywhere from the tiniest corner of your city lot to an open prairie setting and about anything in between. We will cover it all from weeds to seeds and start to bountiful blooms. Participants will receive a native plant book, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists.

    We love our lush green lawns, maybe a bit too much? Join us to learn what else we can plant to benefit the bees and birds, while also keeping some green turf. We will discuss lawn alternatives that are more environmentally friendly that will keep your backyard buzzing. Small changes can go a long ways towards the environment while saving you time and money. Participants will receive a native plant book, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists.

    Plant Propagation

    The creation of new plants can occur by planting seeds, dividing perennials or by taking cuttings from plants and rooting them. This course provides an overview of seed and division propagation. The majority of time will focus on green/soft tissue cuttings. A live demonstration will occur. Bring a 3-4 inch plastic nursery pot and a clear plastic bag if you would like the opportunity to propagate a plant yourself. The tools and propagation material will be provided.

    Design your own mosaic masterpiece using ceramic tile. A mosaic piece is a simple and easy process that can be enjoyed even for the non-artist. Get creative with the option to design your own pattern or select one from an option of easy templates. Ceramic tiles can be attached to just about any surface, making a picture frame is a great first project. Learn about the basics of proper materials and how to cut sized tiles.

    Have you ever wanted to play Fantasy Football but didn't know how?? Now is your chance to learn! This class will provide participants with the fundamentals of fantasy football. If you are new to fantasy football, this is the class for you! Participants will learn how to draft players (there will be a mock 4 round draft), understand important terms and abbreviations needed to succeed in fantasy football, be provided tools (websites) that make it fun and easy compete week to week, and how to begin a league. Participants will learn how fun and easy fantasy football can be. What participants will learn By the end of the class, participants would have fundamental understanding all offensive positions groups that make up the scoring in fantasy football. Participants will also participate in a fantasy football draft. Topics covered include: scoring in fantasy football, the waiver wire, the importance of bye weeks, trades, different kinds of fantasy football leagues, different drafting options (online vs in-person, how to access weekly lineup advice) and having fun!!! All participants will walk away from the class with a packet of everything that was discussed, online tools to be successful with fantasy football, as well as my email so that they can ask me questions anytime. Participants they will realize and understand how simple and fun fantasy football can be.
