  • Mature Driving

    This course has been approved by the State Department of Public Safety. The course content will include physical and mental limitations, driving strategies, defensive driving and safety. This means that a first-time participant can take a 4-hour program as their initial training – the 8-hour will no longer be a requirement. You will receive a certificate of completion. Check with your insurance agent for reduced rate information.

    Everything you will need to create beautiful pots will be on hand at the Chisago Lakes High School Greenhouse on the south side of Chisago Lakes High School (near Door 17). Plants of all variety will be available for purchase and a knowledgeable instructor will be on hand to help you arrange the plants. Pay the greenhouse for supplies purchased at class. No registration required.

Whether you are starting a new flower garden or trying to revitalize and old veggie patch, we will cover it all. From soil testing to composting, and so much more.     Do you have that patch of lousy soil where nothing seems to grow very well? There are plenty of tough MN native plants that will not only survive, but thrive in sketchy soil conditions. We will chat about all aspects of those tricky soil sites to get plants and blooms started for season to come.     Let’s explore and join our delightful "Blooms in Color" flower pot painting class! This creative workshop is designed for individuals of all skill levels, from beginners eager to explore their artistic side to seasoned painters looking for a new and vibrant project. Materials include a terracotta flower pot, acrylic paints, brushes, and aprons. Just bring your enthusiasm and be prepared to have a blooming good time!

  • Native Groundcovers

    In the MN native plant world, there are great groundcovers to add to your landscapes. We will chat about a wide variety of plants that grow from a few inches up to a few feet tall that will spread and hold the ground. When it comes to groundcovers it is all about roots and rhizomes. And as a bonus, many of these are also great pollinator plants! Participants will receive an informational folder full of great publications, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists.
  • Copper Brazing Class

    In this class we will learn the techniques of copper brazing to create strong and permanent joints on your creations. We will then use copper solder to attach a bezel to your pendant.
