    Rain Barrels

    Rain barrels harvest rainwater from roofs and other structures that can then be used to water gardens, lawns, and potted plants. Installing a rain barrel is an excellent way to reduce run-off and pollution as well as save MONEY! As much as 40% of residential water is used for irrigation in the summer. Participants will learn the ins and outs of rain barrels, site selection, and other tips to use rain barrels most efficiently. We will also talk about the pros and cons of many of the commercially available rain barrels and how to make your own. Participants will receive a native plant book, and one lucky participant will win a rain barrel!
  • Mature Driving - 8 Hour Course

    This is an in-person class with a virtual presenter. There will be a facilitator on site to start the course and hand out materials. The course content will include physical and mental limitations, driving strategies, defensive driving and safety. This class is for the mature driver for tips on staying a safe driver as we age (55 and older). Learn techniques on staying safe on the road and learn of new traffic management concepts You will receive a certificate of completion. Check with your insurance agent for reduced rate information. This course has been approved by the State Department of Public Safety.

Participants will receive a native plant book, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists
  • Chisago Lakes Parents/Guardians of Special Needs Support Group

    Gather together with local parents of children with special needs to connect, discuss your experiences, share your knowledge and learn from one another. The discussion will be led by Chisago Lakes School District's Nora Boyle, a Lakeside Elementary Special Education Teacher who has benefitted from similar groups as a parent herself. No childcare provided at initial free meeting.

    Design your own mosaic masterpiece using ceramic tile. A mosaic piece is a simple and easy process that can be enjoyed even for the non-artist. Get creative with the option to design your own pattern or select one from an option of easy templates. Ceramic tiles can be attached to just about any surface, making a picture frame is a great first project. Learn about the basics of proper materials and how to cut sized tiles.

    Have you ever wanted to play Fantasy Football but didn't know how?? Now is your chance to learn! This class will provide participants with the fundamentals of fantasy football. If you are new to fantasy football, this is the class for you! Participants will learn how to draft players (there will be a mock 4 round draft), understand important terms and abbreviations needed to succeed in fantasy football, be provided tools (websites) that make it fun and easy compete week to week, and how to begin a league. Participants will learn how fun and easy fantasy football can be. What participants will learn By the end of the class, participants would have fundamental understanding all offensive positions groups that make up the scoring in fantasy football. Participants will also participate in a fantasy football draft. Topics covered include: scoring in fantasy football, the waiver wire, the importance of bye weeks, trades, different kinds of fantasy football leagues, different drafting options (online vs in-person, how to access weekly lineup advice) and having fun!!! All participants will walk away from the class with a packet of everything that was discussed, online tools to be successful with fantasy football, as well as my email so that they can ask me questions anytime. Participants they will realize and understand how simple and fun fantasy football can be.
