Chisago Lakes Community Education and Right Away Driving School are teaming up to provide the service in greater detail to the Chisago Lakes Area. The class will be held right here on the CLHS campus in the Lecture Hall. Here are the parameters of the course. 30 HOURS OF CLASS: Students under 18 must complete 30 hours of in class instruction before they are able to take the permit test. Once the 30 hours of classroom is complete RAD will issue a “Blue card”. Students will take the blue card to the DMV as proof of course completion in order to take the permit test. Once your child passes the permit test at the DMV they can drive with someone over the age of 21. WHAT IS THE TYPICAL CLASS LIKE? WHAT IS NEEDED?: Monday- Friday. 3 hours each day. Our maximum amount of students in a class is 55. Students will need a highlighter, notebook, and writing utensil for class. We provide manuals. Usually class starts with review. The remainder of class incorporates chapter reading, worksheets, group activity, and chapter testing. WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS TO MISS A DAY?: Your child can join the same day they missed in the next Right Away class session. *Cost includes behind the wheel time with Right Away Driving school.
