  • Slow Down, Simplify, Be Mindful

    When you go to bed do you feel like you barely survived another day? Or, Do you feel like you thrived and enjoyed your day? Is a “feel good movie” the only place you find peace. Over scheduled moms, dads, singles, young or old can find ways to slow down and avoid burnout and exhaustion. Find the purpose and meaning in your life that you want, not what a busy culture forces on you. This series of classes will explore practices and ideas for everyday life found in the recent book, “Seeking Slow, Reclaim Moments of Calm In Your LIfe” by Melanie Barnes. The book is an incredibly practical guide for our rushed modern world. It offers practical ideas for our everyday lives and how to use mindfulness to find calm. The price for this class includes a copy of the book for each participant to read and discuss at meetings. Topics will primarily come from the book, but not be limited to the book. Bruce Neese, BA MA Mindfulness Coach will facilitate this group. You might not be able to change the world, but you can change how you respond to it.     Native Plants for Wetlands and Shorelines

    Do you have a ditch, shoreline, or wetland on your property you want to spruce up beyond cattails and swamp grass? Do you have an area of yard where the grass just won’t grow because it is wet most of the time? There are lots of varieties of natives and non-native perennials that can be used to add color, texture, and eye-appeal that don’t mind having wet toes. Let’s figure out how to add an aesthetic splash into that soggy site. Participants will receive a native plant book, and several door prizes will be given away from local plant specialists.

Participants will receive a free native plant book and there will be several gift certificates from local nurseries given away as door prizes.
  • Mature Driving

    This course has been approved by the State Department of Public Safety. The course content will include physical and mental limitations, driving strategies, defensive driving and safety. **Effective July 1, the new rule states that the course must be a total of at least 4 hours. This means that a first-time participant can take a 4-hour program as their initial training – the 8-hour will no longer be a requirement. You will receive a certificate of completion. Check with your insurance agent for reduced rate information.
